Swing Dance for Life is a swing dance workshop, dance party and and cancer benefit in San Francisco, and is a satellite event of the 24 Hour Cancer Dance-A-Thon.

The first Swing Dance for Life workshop took place on August 15, 2009 at City College of San Franciso and featured over 5 hours of dance classes with local dance instructors, a 1:1 swing clinic, and a Saturday night dance party with 3 live bands. The event raised $9198 with all workshop registration and dance ticket sales being donated to the larger 24 Hour Cancer Dance-A-Thon fund which supports cancer research and treatment at the City of Hope Hospital.

This awesome fund raising effort has give the San Francisco dance-a-thon team a great head start in achieving their goal of raising $30K for the 2010 dance-a-thon!

Planning for Swing Dance for Life 2010 will begin as soon as this year’s 24 Hour Cancer Dance-A-Thon has completed on March 14th.
